COVID-19 Safety Guidelines
Keeping our community safe at Optim Health and Acupuncture San Francisco
At Optim Health and Acupuncture, we prioritize your health and safety at every step.
We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), California Department of Public Health, and San Francisco Department of Public Health, and we have adopted the strictest safety protocols and procedures concerning COVID-19.
All of our staff and doctors are fully vaccinated and boosted. Masks continue to be worn at all times.
PRE-APPOINTMENT SCREENING
COVID-19 screening questionnaires are sent out within 24 hours before each appointment. These are mandatory and must be completed before you will be allowed to enter our office.
The questionnaire screens for any new symptoms among the following that have been found to be associated with COVID-19:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing
- Fever, or feeling of feverishness (temperature of 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit or greater)
- Chills, or repeated shaking with chills
- Fatigue
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
- Headache
- Nausea or vomiting
- Nasal congestion or runny nose
- Muscle or body aches not caused by specific activity such as exercise
- Diarrhea
- Close contact with someone suspected or known to be positive for COVID-19 within the last ten (10) days
We require anyone with any of the above-listed COVID-19 symptoms to have a negative test AND be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before coming in for an appointment.
AT THE TIME OF YOUR APPOINTMENT
Appointments are staggered to allow time for proper cleaning between patients as well as to limit the amount of people in the hallway and common spaces.
As such, we ask that you please be prompt and arrive as close to your appointment time as possible, ideally no more than five minutes beforehand. Our tardiness, late cancellation, and no-show policy remains in effect. Please click here to read the full policy on our FAQ page.
Our waiting room remains closed. No guests or family members are allowed at this time.
The clinic door will be opened upon your arrival.
Upon entry to our office, temperature will be taken of all patients with a contact-free thermometer. If your temperature is 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit or greater, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
All patients are required to wash their hands or use provided hand sanitizer upon entering our clinic.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
All patients are required to wear a mask at all times. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you.
SANITIZATION AND DISINFECTION
All equipment are sanitized and disinfected after each patient appointment, including high-touch areas such as tables, chairs, countertops, door handles, and light switches.
Each treatment room is equipped with a HEPA air purifier that features 3-stage air purification, cleaning the air of 99.97% of dust particles, pollen, pet dander, smoke, and odors, as well as built-in UV-C light eliminating up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria.
CONTACTLESS PAYMENT
All transactions are contactless and handled electronically.
ACUPUNCTURE SAFETY
Our doctors are thoroughly trained in, tested for, and follow Clean Needle Technique guidelines as outlined by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM). These guidelines include best practices for acupuncture needle safety and related procedures.
